“We weren’t set on a new build initially but worked our way to that. We first looked at properties on the market - one of which was a Kirkwood home at their past Echt development. It was about 10-years old and still in great condition, which really impressed us and showed that Kirkwood homes are built to last. We loved the size and layout, so we started exploring some newer Kirkwood developments and homes. We heard great things about Kirkwood from colleagues and friends, so we knew they had a great reputation.

“We considered several options at The Brambles, including a 4-bedroom Morven and a 4-bedroom Tummel. We also toured the 5-bedroom Drumallan showhome, which was beautiful but offered more space than we were ready for at this stage. When we saw The Craig housetype and its location within the development, it felt like the perfect fit for us. Being able to view the housetype in person was a huge factor - it allowed us to appreciate the layout and plot orientation, which really suited what we were looking for.”

“We love the layout of the house. Our favourite room must be the open-plan dining area and kitchen that look onto our south-facing garden. The space feels so bright and airy from all the natural light. In September, not long after we moved in, we had friends over and it was amazing to open up the French doors and enjoy the sun shining in.

“The proportions are really well thought out and everything feels spacious. The utility room was an added bonus - it’s not something you would typically get in a home with a smaller footprint so it’s a feature we really appreciate.”

“The buying process was completely seamless. As first-time buyers, we really appreciated how fantastic our sales advisor, Michelle, was in explaining everything to us - she was really on the ball. She is incredibly enthusiastic which made the whole experience even more exciting. You can tell she is so passionate about her work and I’m pretty sure she even replies to emails in her sleep!

The one thing we decided not to finalise was the garden - we wanted to keep it as a project for ourselves to work on. That will be our biggest focus as we head into summer. We can’t wait to finish the garden and enjoy having friends over to make the most of it during the warmer months.”
