FAQs about our Live for Free offer

8th Nov, 2017

You’ve maybe heard about our newly launched Live for Free offer, where your monthly living costs will be paid for a whole year when you reserve a new home at our developments in Cove or Alford. But you may have some questions about it too, or may think it sounds too good to be true.

Here are the answers to some of the questions you may be thinking about…

What’s the catch?

There isn’t one. All you have to do is reserve a Kirkwood home at either of the two developments to redeem it.

How does it work? How do I get the money?

The money will either be paid back to you on a monthly basis or discounted from the property purchase price at the date of entry – the choice is yours.

How long do I have to wait for my cash?

You’ll receive the discount or the first monthly payments upon your date of entry.

How long is this offer available for?

This offer is available if you reserve by 31st December 2017. The voucher must be shown to the sales advisor at the time of reservation to be redeemed.

What developments is this voucher available at?

The Live for Free offer is only available at Charleston Grange in Cove and Kingsford Rise in Alford.

How do I redeem this offer?

You will need to download the voucher on our website – this will also be emailed to you. You can either print it off or show it on your phone to the sales advisor at the time of reservation to redeem.

Why is this offer valued up to £19,500?

We have calculated the average costs in the UK for all the relevant items, which totals just under £19,500. This includes:

  • Mortgage payments (based on a purchase price of £270,000 with a 15% deposit and 2 year fixed deal) - £900.70
  • Council Tax (based on Aberdenshire Council’s band E rate) - £238.78
  • Utility bills (electric and oil based on the UK national average) - £112
  • Broadband and TV (based on the UK national average cost) - £47.40
  • House and contents insurance (based on UK national average cost) - £38.63
  • TV license - £12.12
  • Groceries (based on ONS report into family spending in March 2016) - £227.20
  • Development factoring fee - £25

What if my monthly payments equate to more?

As our payments are based on the UK averages, if you monthly costs equate to more, you’ll have to pay the difference.

Can I swap any of the monthly payments for something else?

We offer a range of incentives to appeal to a wide range of purchasers, and we would suggest that you discuss which incentives are available at the development you are interested in, to determine which work best for your circumstances.

Is it available to everyone?

Yes.

Can I just have the cash?

No.

Can I just have the money off the house instead?

Yes, depending on the plot this may be able to be accommodated.

Can I use this along with another offer, like Part Exchange?

No, this offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers.
