In recent years, working from home, or hybrid-working has certainly became the new ‘norm’ for many. Whilst a kitchen table or a desk in a room can serve a purpose, having a designated room to work from is definitely an added bonus!
The benefits of a home office
Working from home within a designated office space offers a number of benefits to employees - and, of course, those who are self-employed.
One such benefit to an office at home means the commute to the workplace becomes unnecessary, which saves on fuel costs, car maintenance, and creates a reduction in your carbon footprint. The commuting time saved can mean an earlier start and/or later finish time and therefore translate to increased productivity in general.
A designated office space within the home also helps to minimise any distractions from within the household, meaning higher levels of concentration to the tasks in hand.
Those with a home office are also more likely to take breaks, rather than eating at a desk in the workplace. A lunch break when working from home can involve a short walk around the surrounding area and time spent with the family, therefore helping to promote a better work/life balance.
What our customers say
Cliff and his partner Jenny decided it was time to purchase a brand new home together and begin the peaceful life they had yearned for - and settled on our beautiful coastal development, Ury Estate. Now settled into their new 3 bedroom detached ‘Craig’, they’ve told us that one of their favourite features is the practicality of a home office area:
“Having a spare third bedroom was quite important to us at the time, as my partner Jenny had started working from home and still is - this made the perfect spot for a home office, where the cats have loved observing her hard at work.”
