Kirkwood Homes is delighted to celebrate The Premier Guarantee Quality Recognition Award for Bonnyton Brae, Pitmedden, which recognises the high standards being achieved across the development.
We caught up with Greig Simmers, Senior Site Manager at Bonnyton Brae, to find out what the award means to him, the importance of consistency and the team behind the quality of every Kirkwood home.
What does winning this award mean to you, and what do you think it says about the standards being achieved at Bonnyton Brae?
I would say consistency has been key to achieve the highest standards at Bonnyton Brae - all the experienced Trades on site are fully dependable and provide quality workmanship which easily shows in the end result.”
“I was genuinely delighted to receive this award - though I would say it’s a result of the high work ethic and equally high standards employed by the whole team - and I’m proud to manage the day-to-day running of this fantastic development.”

How important is the wider team in maintaining those standards, and is there anything about the team at Bonnyton Brae that you think has helped achieve the award?
“The wider team is extremely important. Every employed Tradesperson or Subcontractor has a positive work attitude, really good attention to detail and takes pride in the job which makes a huge difference!
The wider team at Head Office have also been fantastic, I can approach any staff member from any department directly at any time - including our impressive in-house Technical team - and this open-door policy makes my job easier. I’m not the first to say it and I won’t be the last, but there really is a family feel at Kirkwood.
Many of the team who work here have been with Kirkwood for many, many years, so they understand the standards that are expected on a Kirkwood development. That experience really shines through.”
What does quality mean to you when you're overseeing the construction of someone's future home?
“Quality is a huge factor for me. A house is likely to be the most expensive purchase someone will make in their lifetime, so you want it to be the best it possibly can be.
We’re not just building houses; we’re building someone's home, and that comes with a lot of responsibility.”

Does receiving recognition like this motivate you to maintain those standards?
“The award is great and very humbling - I believe your work ethic reflects your gratitude, which ultimately leads to your results. Kirkwood took a chance on me when I started, then promoted me to a Senior Role a few years later. I am grateful for that opportunity and can repay that by ensuring I am delivering to their high standards”
Finally, what are you most proud of about what the team is creating at Bonnyton Brae, and what would you say to everyone who has helped make the award possible?
“Pitmedden is a typically quiet rural Scottish village, and I think the development we’re building here adds nicely to the existing community. We’re creating a place for people to find their forever home, settle in and create memories. That’s something I’m really proud to be part of.
And finally, to the team who have helped make the award possible – Thank you! Keep up the good work!”
