Kirkwood Homes and Energy Performance
All of our homes comply with the requirements of the Scottish Building Standards. Our current designs have at least a 30% reduction in carbon emissions compared to 2007 standards.
As part of our commitment to improving the energy performance of our homes, we are installing Samsung air source heat pumps in some of our most recent developments. For our rural developments that are not on the gas grid, this means that our customers will not be reliant on expensive fossil fuels to provide central heating and hot water.
Other energy-efficient measures that we incorporate in our homes include:
- integrated appliances with "A" or better ratings;
- low-energy light fittings with extract fans; and
- higher levels of insulation to reduce heating requirements.
